Frys Weekly FAQ:
The ad prices listed are generally for in store purchase price only. The price you see on the link will not always be the price you pay in the store.
But items are sometimes available online for the same price as B&M and have free to very low shipping. Usually this will be software.

Buy online Pick up in store
You can use their online shopping method and chose IN-Store pick up and have your items picked out by their staff and ready to go at the counter. Your card is not charged by their system until you pick up your items (they give you up to 72 hours to pick up) and you get to pay the B&M (ad) price. The convenience factor on this is great but you are not guaranteed your items because Frys workers make lots of mistakes. If it's a popular items, you want to get there early to make sure you get your product.

Upgrade Competitive software rebates:
Upgrade competitive rebates can be done if you have a competitive or a previous version of the software. IF you do not have either, then you can buy multiple of the same type of software. For example, if you buy Kaspersky along with any other AV software you can use one software purchased this week towards upgrade/competitive rebate for the other. Same with video editing software or utilities software.

For the $25 upgrade/competitor MIR, is there anyway to get around the disk/user manual/quick start guide requirement to qualify for the rebate? Would downloading/printing a random competitor's online user manual suffice?

100% for me. On average it takes about 8 weeks to receive the check. A few times I have had to chat or call to receive a rebate that was approved to be mailed, but once I do they are on their way. Seems like they get stuck in their system for some reason. They are processed by Parago.

The online manual sounds risky. What you could do instead is what the OP has at the end of his thread - pretty creative:

Trend does not allow just any competitor's products to be used; only theirs, Norton/Symantec and McAfee. Most others don't have this restriction, but watch the offer details to make sure. If that's an issue, there will likely be other products that do meet your needs on sale in the next 1-2 weeks.

The upgrade rebate was a problem for me last month on a similar deal. I bought the competing software the next day and they tried to deny the upgrade rebate saying that the competing product was bought after Nitro PDF Express. I had to fight with them to get it approved. Make sure you meet the upgrade rebate eligibility before buying it.

Only problem with CutePDF is that the PDF quality is pathetic, especially if you are creative PDF files with graphics etc. But for documents, it works fine.

I recently switched to PDF -Xchange and haven't regretted yet. Free version creates PDF, just doesn't let you edit it.

I have Adobe and only time I use it is to create forms. For regular editing (except merging/merging PDF documents), I use PDF-Xchange free version. Free version lets you do all the editing except forms (no such feature in free version) and PDF documents merging (free version of PDF-Xchange inserts watermark on the top corners). Also, PDF24 works for basic editing as well. Nitro PDF Exchange viewer is an older version, new version is Nitro PDF 7. Newer version does have ability to design, fill in forms.

If you don't want to spend money of buying PDF editors, I suggest either you get 1) free PDF24 for creating/merging PDF files. And for all the editing requirements, use PDF-Xchange (except merging) OR 2) PDFill for complete set of editing features.

PDFill editing features resemble Acrobat in quality, option, and finesse. Did I mention it is free?
