I found this on another site, but I don't live close & will not be able to take advantage of this offer, so I haven't attempted it, so if someone does try this & more info is needed in the OP please post & i'll update.

Not as good as last time when there wasn't much restrictions. I went the last wk of Aug. ( Fri and Sat nite stay) and paid $0. In my case on this deal, better chance of me cancelling do to rain and/or snow and losing your $25 deposit.

Nice place w/ live music at nite. Great that Walmart is across the street.

Stayed here during their last promo. I think it was worth it for $50 to bump up but that's my opinion. The shower leaks a good bit through the round glass hole in the upgraded rooms but has a better TV among other things that are just slightly worth $25. We stayed in each for 4 total nights. Make sure you checkout their golf range. Pretty fun for a few dollars. They also have a movie theater showing movies for $3 about a month before they hit DVD. If you go when it's raining and are tired of gambling, checkout Harrah's car museum for a few hours. If you don't want to leave the hotel but want some cheap food, checkout the bowling alley for some cheap food (hotdogs, pretzel) to tie you over. I think that's open 24 hours too. Another restaurant onsite has all you can eat plans and they do with $4 unlimited beer (Coors and something else only though) Different nights have different themes for food.

I stayed at the burning man thingy and boy, did them elevators started to smell like body odor aka original smell. Some were spicy like canibus and I liked that.

are you sure that it is $10 dining credit per day or is it $10 per stay?

The weather so far is not even on the cold side so we are in the clear with snow activities for this whole month of Nov. We are getting some late winter snow storms this year so that means the colder weather will be with us until march of 2012.

When it snows badly, it is safer not to go. Last year during dec or so, there was a 20 car pile up that closes down highway 80 eastbound with injuries reported. I read that news while I was staying at the Resort and I beat that meltdown by 1 day earlier. Lucky me.

Enjoy your stay and try not to lose all of your money on their slot machines. They usually do not have jackpot winners on them slot machines ever. Do you see a wall where they frame up jackpot winners? I been there so many times and never did I hear of anybody winning the jackpot off their slot machines. It is better to risk your chance on the strips. The money to be made and money be flooding the strip so go where the money is at.

See you Grand sierra folks soon and if you see that asian looking front desk chick that looks fine, just give her a smile and maybe she will be yours. I'm that man on top of that mountain smiling down if you know what I mean. LOL

Totally agree on doing the $25 upgrade. it was *so* worth it. We went up with a big group (half having decided to upgrade). the half that didn't, were upset when they saw how the other half lived. They tried to upgrade (after seeing ours). They were told that the fee was like $100 a night.

Avoid the buffet, it was pretty gnarly.

The Johnny Rocket's was decent. The Round Table lunch buffet was good enough (right next to the movie theater in the basement).

My one worry is the potential snow situation, this time of year.

I appreciate the comments above from those who have gone for upgraded rooms in the past. Can anyone who has not gone for the upgrade comment on room quality? My understanding is that the upgrade ends up costing closer to $40 per night since they tack on the resort fee and taxes (which they don't do for a non-upgraded room).

I just went this past weekend on the previous promo. I did not get the upgrade. The room was roomy with 2 queen sized beds. Plenty of space to walk around in.

Cant really complain about clean, spacious and free.

Yea it was around 35-40 bucks a night after all the fees and taxes for the upgrade
