Bank Fraud
I received a call from a chase branch manager saying that someone went into his branch with my savings account trying to withdraw $6500. They picked up on the fraud and refused to pay out the withdrawal. For security reasons they had to put a hold on both my checking and savings account until I went to a local branch to close and re-open my accounts which I did so immediately. I also received tons of notifications from my email, sms and chase app on my phone so I know something wasn't right.
As per the branch manager the person went in using a ID with my name on it. He states that they have reported it to local authorities and have it all on camera. Chase states I don't need to do anything else but Im still worried as to how someone can get my savings account # since I don't use that account for anything. I also saw my credit report last week and everything is good and there are no red flags.
I still feel uneasy knowing someone got my savings account # and was able to get an ID with my name on it.
Are there any other steps I should take or should I just leave it as is and let chase take care of everything since I didnt lose any money and my credit report seems fine?
