Think of it this way: Let's say you have a second house with a lot of valuable things in it and you don't want anyone to take them from you. You can either: A. Leave the doors unlocked and open, but check on your valuable belongings everyday to make sure they're all still there and hope everyday that no one has taken anything. or B. Lock all the doors and get a high security system installed, therefore, allowing you to rest easy knowing your valuable belongings are safe and sound. Checking your credit report daily and fraud alerts (such as the waste of money credit protection programs offered by credit card operators, banks, and companies such as LifeLock) are like Option A. Freezing your credit is like Option B. Last edited by Brian1; 03-25-2012 at 09:59 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost Use wisely your power of choice.
