Thread Details

If you got a PA, feel free to rep me. ^^^ Stick Out Tongue

Last Year, we had a thread like this for the 40" for those that wanted to PA it. So I figure I should make this with all the info you need!

Brand: Westinghouse
Screen Class: 46"
Model: VR-4625

DCPI: 008-09-0725

How to get a PA on Black Friday (YMMV):

1. http://sd.site88.net/t.html <----------------------------- Open link.

2. Type/Copy the DCPI and your Zip Code

3. Check for Limited Availability or Available.

4. Call the store and transfer to Electronics and give the person the DPCI number and ask them to hold you 1.

5. Go to the Store, as you check out ask them how many they have, if they have multiples and you would like to buy multiple ones, then buy as many.

6. You should pay around $550-$600 depending on tax per TV.

7. Keep your receipt and you can use the TV as there is no Restocking fee if in the rare scenario where they do not give you a PA.

8. Go back on BF and take receipt to cashier and say you need a PA.

I scored (2) 40" Westy's last year and I already have (1) 46" Westy for this year.

Price Adjustment Tips!

-Remember your Receipt! As basic as this is, I found atleast 2 or 3 people in this thread that dont have a receipt.

-Print out both Targets News Release AND their Corporate Policy

-Head to the closest store and just tell them you want a PA and hand over the receipt

-If you get a PA, good for you. List the store in the wiki below.

-If you DONT get a PA, show them the news release and the policy.

-If they still say no, call up corporate in front of them.

-99% of time Corporate will tell them to price adjust unless you get a crappy person on the line.

-If they still say no, just head to another Target store.

Interstate PA'ing works. Was able to buy in New Jersey and PA in Maryland.

The 46 INCH Westinghouse is NOT a Doorbuster

Corporate Phone Number (in case any managers give you a hard time while PA'ing): 1-800-440-0680

Welcome to the Target Replacement and Service Plan Portal [targetextendedservice.com]

Steps for getting the TV....

- At your local Target check the inventory with DCPI # 008-09-0725

The inventory checker will look like this....

http://www.takefiveaday.com/wp-co.../scan1.jpg

- The response from the tracker should say something like "In Stock - In show room or storage room"

- Assuming you get the response above, Track down an employee in electronics or go to the guest services.

- Tell them that you want a TV but its not out and the scanner said it was in stock. Give them the DCPI number and they should bring you one out.

- Pay about $550 for the TV out the door

Steps for getting the Price Adjustment...

- Head to any Target store during the day of the sale with your receipt

- Go to guest services and tell them you bought a TV and there is now a lower price

- Hand them the receipt and you will be all done in about two minutes normally

It should be noted that if you start to get the runaround on a PA or get charged for a restocking fee be sure to use the red customer phone located at the customer service desk.

Dial: 1-800-440-0680 when prompted, hit #1 (for English) then #2 then #3 and then #4 and that will get you to a live service rep. Explain your situation and they will tell you to hand the phone over to whoever is giving you grief. 9 times out or 10 they will side with the customer and make the store do things the right way.

It goes without saying that Target managers and employees that make up their own rules HATE it when you call corporate.

Target employees are not allowed to get on a customers cellphone hence the reason why you need to use the in-house phone instead.

I hooked my Laptop (nVidia) up to this TV using an HDMI cable and was able to get 1:1 pixel mapping. No over scan headaches, nothing to modify. My laptop detected the resolution correctly as 1920x1080.

FYI: It's the remote that sucks. Works great from distance and angles with my Dish Network remote. Buy an aftermarket programmable remote if you don't already have one through your sat/cable provider.

ONKYO Remote Code

For those SDers that are running their Westy through an Onkyo HT RC360 receiver or similar...
If you've found a remote code that works, post it here:

Wall Mounts
If you've found a good deal on a wall mount, please post link.
I swear the Cheetah Mount from Amazon was about $37 earlier this week.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WL6YY8/

Found way to program Directv remote

To codesearch,

1. slide to TV
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-1, wait for two blinks
4. enter 1
5. keep pressing and releasing the CH UP key, if the TV turns OFF
6. press SELECT to lock code in
You can then program TV input by repeating step 2 and entering 9-6-0

Change your wording....PM is PA. Price adjusting and Price matching are two different things with different policies.

Also....You rly don't need to keep it unopened. There is no restocking fee either way. You also rly don't need to call around....Show up the day of and bring in receipt. Will take 2 mins ish tops to get done. But overall pretty good info. Just hope they don't close the loophole before I get paid Friday.

Ty....When ppl say it the other way it creates confusion and we will see 1000 diff times that this won't be allowed. Wink

I am actually the same way. I bought it last year and didn't open it thinking I might need to return it. But no problems and PA got done quickly and painlessly.

This year I will likely use it to watch the game on Thanksgiving since atm we have a tube TV in the living room. Big Grin

Then again I may be in line at BB that day. Who knows, haven't solidified my plans yet.

Edit - I don't rly deal with Wiki but if you decide to make one.....http://archive.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=2393737

Are you saying to call back the store before BF? I understood you had to do it during the BF sale, not before. A couple days ago I found the tv on the Target website. I just looked and it is no longer on the website.

Also, I have been reading conflicting reports about 7 days or 14 days period for PA. Which is it?

Calling is more for peace of mind that it'll work. Its not necessary but if you have fears they will not do it then you can use his advice and get as much assurance as possible.

Technically I don't even think you have to do it during the day of the sale. According to the policy it says you have 90 days. But either way you don't normally want that $250 extra money on your credit card so its best to do the day of or day after.

Read the exact wording of Targets press release. Its the week of or the week after. So its not exactly 2 weeks because if you buy it on a Wed it would actually be 11 days.

That said....Right now is within the period of their policy.

How are they going to price match a BF ad before the actual BF Day is here?

You mean PRICE ADJUST. But I think he put that there just to have assurances. I am fairly sure the PA cannot be done over the phone. You need to bring the receipt in after the sale starts and they will adjust it accordingly.

Man I want to do this, but I am nervous that they won't give me a price adjustment.

I think its more likely they would refuse to sell it to you originally then to refuse to price adjust. If this is a must have deal for you then wait in line and be sure to get it.

If not, then if they refuse to PA it you can simply return it and be out a little bit of hassle.

But its worked in years past and I doubt they can rly do much to stop it. The policy is solid and there is no fine print saying they can refuse to give you the PA. Not to mention idk how many Targets you have but within about 20 miles I have about 10 diff Targets....One of them will honor their own policy for sure. laugh out loud

Well if you didn't get a pa you could just return the tv. I am going to pick mine up before the weekend (on a cc) & I'm done with the BF stuff basically. I decided to chance the Westy ,backed with a square trade warranty, due to size/price & if it's a complete dud Target is only about 10 minutes away. The picture on the floor models looks as good as any other to me, of course that's in store.

Yeah I just read the policy and doesn't say anything about them denying Black Friday price adjustments. Has anyone bought one yet? I used to work at Target so I know some people at the store by me. I may have to go in a couple days and see what happens.

sigh. Don' t call ever.

This deal was so easy last year and I imagine it will be again this year.

1) Go to the customer service desk. Tell them you want a TV but you don't see it out.
2) Give them the DCPI
3) Buy the TV if they'll sell it to you. Otherwise try another target
4) Repeat 1-3 until you have a TV
5) On BF head over to your closest Target
6) Go to the customer service desk. Tell them you need a price *ADJUSTMENT*

!!!!Critical step!!! This is the step everyone messes up and obsesses over

7) KEEP YOUR D*** MOUTH SHUT

Don't tell them its for the TV. Don't make up some story about how you were sooo angry when you saw the BF ad. Don't ask if its allowed. Don't do any of the hundreds of stupid things I've seen people post.

8) Customer service Rep will scan the receipt and you'll get your price adjustment
9)?????
10) Profit

on the very rare chance the CSR won't price adjust ask for a team leader. If they still won't do it, try another target. Don't waste your time arguing.

EDIT: Once you get a tv home unbox it and make sure everything is working correctly. Look for dead or stuck pixels. I had a bright green one in the center of my screen last year. I went back and swapped it out for another. Good luck getting anything but a refund if you wait until BF to get this deal.
