Thread Details

Just received this week's ad for Gander Mountain and they have the Ruger SR9C 9mm semi-auto pistol on sale for 399.99. It is $100 off their regular price, although I've seen the same gun on sale at MC Sports for $429.99 this week.

Ad states 3 1/2" barrel with high visibility 3 dot sight, comes with a 10 and 17 round mag

The lowest price I've seen online is $380 plus transfer fees so $399.99 seems like a good price if you've got a Gander Mountain nearby.

Ad says offers are valid November 17-23, 2011, while supplies last, no rainchecks.

They also have the S&W 642 or 637 on sale for $379.99 and a Walther PK380 ACP for $299.99.

Same price as budgunshop but gander mountain will have tax which is basically the same as a transfer fee.

Pretty good deal for a B&M purchase and a big retailer at that.

Jet Guns [jetguns.com] has it a little cheaper but FFL transfer and shipping may not be worth it.

Either way, TU for the gun deal. I own an SR9 (not c) and it's a great full-size 9. I've only heard good things about the Sr9c as well.

No offense, but when I purchased my PM9 from GT Distributors here in Austin, I noticed the $399 price on the Ruger at that time. GT now has the SR9c for $369, so I was a bit surprised to see this as a slick deal. Doesn't really help if you're not near GT, but the price comparison was fresh in my mind.

As I think about it, the $369 price is for first responders/LEO purchases. $399 is their daily civilian purchase price.

Hate to hear the "not small enough" part -- this was the one I was considering for CC.

Definitely want the double/single action, not double-only like many of the smaller ones. Suggested alternatives welcome.

Cheaper Than Dirt [cheaperthandirt.com] sports everyday price $385 + $11 shipping +$30 xfer/BgC = $426 here. Must be a better deal somewhere out there...

Just saw in the ad that the Remington 870 express is only 250 after rebate. Thats a good deal anywhere.

Our local MC Sports beats any local competitor by 10% making the price $359.99 + tax. Not sure if all MC Sports locations do that or not, but that makes it the best deal around for this gun in Kalamazoo.

Hmmm, it sure looks small, certainly no bigger than my Glock 23. The Glock is my least favorite gun for shooting/handling, but it is a light, compact and reliable ccw. The Ruger is very lightweight at 24 ounces.

I think I will go to GM, as they are close by wearing my Kholster-holster and see how it feels/fits.

I'm 6' 2" ~180lbs and I carry this one almost exclusively, although I will say the SR9c is about as big of a conceal gun as you'd want. It hides pretty well in the right holster (High Noon Split Decision) and is a good one to shoot.

I have one, and am quite fond of it. That said, I believe I paid 360ish.
