Anyone Have Diablo 3 beta?

Luckily I work for the company that makes my motherboard. So, if something goes terribly wrong I can probably find some people who will know how to fix it

I'll post my battletag when I get home (can't remember it off the top of my head).

I haven't played a ton yet, but have a 13 Monk and 13 Demon Hunter. Both characters are fun to play, although I prefer the Monk and will most likely roll one as my first character when retail hits.

I don't really have any major complaints yet. It really does feel close to D2, which is a good thing, I was afraid they would stray too far into WoW-land with D3. The combat is pretty tight and more responsive than D2, it actually makes the game feel more skillful than just button mashing and clicking.

The one drawback I see is the lack of global chat channels. Chat channels really helped D2 become the social addictive game it came to be. I would hang out in general chat, trivia channel, and the trade channels especially for hours and hours. I probably spent 90% of my time in trade channels / trade games trying to improve my gear, and perhaps 10% of my time actually playing the game.

Obviously with the RMAH Blizzard wants to diminish trading items for items as much as possible, so I don't think they will institute chat channels no matter how many people petition for them to do so. It's not going to be a deal-breaker for me though, I'll still frequent a few forums and get my social interaction in that way. As long as people have a good group of friends to play with though it should always be a fun experience

yeah i did not use the chat channels much in d2. but i loved them for rappelz, left 4 dead, etc. people could always use any of the many chat programs I guess. why not put it in the game though? strange.
I have a monk and barb at 13, demon hunter at 11 i think. the funny thing is I salvaged a yellow rare 1 handed xbow by accident lol. I wish you could un-salvage.

I'm right there with you on this. I've barely played, only level 6 but I'm very happy with what I've seen so far. As you said, it really does feel like d2 in a sense that they didn't stray offf too far from the whole concept. I do wish they had chat channels, but I don't see myself being able to spend countless hours like I did in d2 now that I have a wife and a baby

Either way, I'm pumped for this game to come out!

Yeah, same here. I've been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, but I really don't have enough time to invest in an MMO these days, so I think that Diablo 3 will be a better fit for me. Becoming a casual gamer.... tough transition but I think I'll make it somehow

I still plan on finding the world first soj though
