Everything is great except for the limited intel graphics. Fine for surfing the web and videos, but if you intend to play any kind of games on it, you might want to look elsewhere.

someone recommended a 7200 rpm over this one at 5400 but I'm wondering how much this will jump up in price to get the 7200rpm? Anyone have any ideas?

You could replace the drive yourself pretty cheaply. Here's a well-reviewed 7200rpm drive on NewEgg for $110.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6822152236

7200rpm drive will be noticeably faster for day-to-day tasks, and while opening programs. You will sacrifice a little bit of battery life going with a faster HD, but it's a worthwhile sacrifice. If you bought this, you could replace the old HD with a 7200rpm and sell the old 5400rpm HD. The upgrade would probably cost you $20-$30, net.

If you want to replace the HD yourself, it can be pricey, $100 or more, but otherwise pretty easy to do. Your best bet is wait for a sale on Black Friday and buy one of these:
(1) Western Digital WD Scorpio Black 500 GB SATA 3 GB/s 7200 RPM, or
(2) Hitachi Travelstar 2.5 Inch 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA II.

Both are rated 4.5/5.0 stars at Amazon. I think the WD Scorpio Black is slightly better in terms of performance, but read the reviews and judge for yourself.

WD http://www.amazon.com/Western-Dig...077&sr=1-4

Hitachi http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-Tra...008&sr=1-1

If speed is more important than storage capacity, you can put in a solid state drive (SSD) and use the 5400 rpm as an external hard drive (you need to buy an external enclosure.) Again, wait for BF sales for your SSD and enclosure.

The low resolution on these is always a deal breaker. 1366 x 768 sucks for any reasonable work with all the vertical scrolling and low real estate. I don't understand why manufacturers don't give at least the option of upgrading. It's usually pretty cheap - like less then $40 or so..
