perhaps you could elaborate so that the Mods know precisely what it is that's making the mess.
Is it... Junk postings? Postings that belong in other forums are link postings with no info just a link? Copious amounts of reposts? Too many single threads for related offers that should have a master thread? Too many master threads? What? Gives us a clue Mythbusting Thread : The Truth about Freebizmags!http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/...p?t=108485
Should I post this mag offer Test: 1. If deal requires you to have to write cancel on an invoice or risk getting sent to collections - it is not free and shouldn't be posted so DO NOT POST 2. If deal is for a sponsored sub, you sign up on the form, you get the sub for free and never have to write cancel on nothing - POST THE OFFER I miss ISIS (Chana) RIP |

It's the layout. It's the sort of layout that a programmer might be happy with, but anyone with any UI savvy would know it's bad... really bad. Icons spattered all over the place, line wrapping, bold and underlined fonts, three page headers... it's an irrregular mess and is extremely hard to peruse. Frankly, it's a UI disasater. However, if they just get the regularity sorted out they'll be 70% there.
I've made this point before but now I'm certain about it. I have begun to avoid SD because it's such a pain to read thru the list of posts. SD is a great site... it would be a shame to leave that layout the way it is. Wanna see an example of one that's easy to read?... go to FW hot deals. Single header, regular line intervals, no clutter... easy to read. Last edited by TellyTubby; 10-29-2006 at 11:18 AM.. |

I really don't see what the problem is. I think that the layout is perfectly fine. Not sure what you mean by "icons spattered all over the place" but I don't really see it. I like the use of the category icons because it helps me find deals so easily, and you can sort deals using one particular category. The thumbs up/thumbs down icons are a million times better than FW's little bar thing. New topics being bold helps me figure out which deals have new posts since my last visit, which is another plus.
And just so you know, comparing SD to FW won't get your requests taken very seriouslyby a lot of people. Mr SD and the gang work very hard on the look of the site and I for one am glad that SD doesn't look like FW. |

That's why there's choices for those that like FW's layout and those that like SD's layout. I like SD's layout, even the older one is better than FW's.
