http://i.minus.com/ibtHDOZwPQGuhf.png

You can add a line below if your Current triple play offer is different or better.

For those with existing FIOS Services, you may want to first call Verizon for the best offers available or sign in to MyVerizon and see what's the best bundle they are offering online. If you're out of contract, I suggest signing up as a new customer, perhaps under a family/roomate's name to get the full new offer.

Its $500 via Verizon Visa® Prepaid Card issued by MetaBank™ pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Use where Visa debit cards are accepted. Must have service for 60 days with no past-due balance. Card mailed within 90 days of install date. Other card terms and conditions apply.

BEST DEAL:
About a week ago I logged onto Verizon and went most of the way through the 5-step package selection process, but I canceled out at the end and didn't actually purchase it. Today I got an email from them with a promotional code saying: "Thanks for contacting us. Here's a discount coupon for you. Take $5 off your bundle for 24 months."
So I went ahead and signed up today (install date 12/7 – I can’t wait!) and used the Promo Code from the email and it knocked the price down to $74.99/month, thus saving me $120 over the 2 year contract. Plus I have another code that will also get you an additional $50 Amex gift card.

My bottom line:
$74.99/month for 2 years
+ $300 Visa Gift Card
+ $50 Amex Gift Card
--------------------------------------
$60.40/month (after GC)

I finally got my $300 card from Verizon. Please note there is a $3.00 maintenance fee starting the 13th month so use the card before 1 year is up. Also, there is a $6.95 fee to replace the card so don't lose it and there is a 1% foreign transaction fee if the transaction is made outside the US. I recommend just applying your card to your Verizon account and have it give you a $300 credit. It will be used up in about 3-4 months that way depending on your monthly bill. This way you don't have to worry about it.

As for the person who received a card for more than $300, the paperwork says:

Please note that the total card value may be higher than your Verizon Visa Prepaid Card offer to off-set taxes and fees included with your original order.

The internet is awesome, as well as the DVR software. They also have cell phone apps that allow you to setup what to record when you aren't at home. The best thing about the internet is the speeds seem to be better than advertised. Unfortunately, its not available in my area, but a friend of mine who got it snagged the 15/5 package and according to speedtest.net got closer to 21/5. TWC sucks in that respect as the advertised 10/1 is never ascertainable (not to mention their incessant throttling of speeds).

(I did want to point out the Verizon DSL service isn't even worth the $20/month. Frequent disconnects and very slow speeds. The FiOS internet service doesn't have either of those problems)

I get these offers from time to time but I don't jump on it because I can never seem to find answers to a few questions I have about FIOS.

We have TV's in five rooms in our house although one of the rooms is the basement where I couldn't even tell you the last time we watched TV there. So let's say 4 rooms. I'm assuming FIOS requires a box for each TV but I can't seem to find how many boxes these offers include? Is it as many as we need? With Time Warner cable we have to pay a fee each month for each box although we only have digital cable in 2 rooms, the rest is just basic cable.

My other question is what happens after the 2 year contract? Does the monthly rate go up? If so I can't seem to ever get a straight answer from Verizon how much it will go up.

I would LOVE to see a HD box that we can own so not to pay the fee each month Annoyed

Yeah, that's pretty annoying. You could do TiVo, but the upfront cost is pretty high. If Verizon would let us buy their DVR for like $250 or $300, I'd take it. Beats paying $16 a month forever.

We have 5 TV's in the house and we only pay $3.99/month to rent the CableCard. We do our own decryption (HTPC with Windows 7 and Ceton InifniTV4 tuner and 4x ClearQAM tuners) and distribution through the home network (Media Center Extenders) . We get all the channels we are entitled to, except for on-demand, and have to call in to get Pay-per-View.

It sure beats paying $60/month to have a whole house DVR ($20/month) and 4 additional HD boxes ($10/month each).

If you have a TV that has a Clear QAM tuner, you can pick up "basic broadcast" channels, which are the same channels you can get with an antenna. Everything else is encrypted, and you need a CableCard.

Verizon has it all figured out when it come to CableCard in a PC. They have a utility that you run to activate the CableCard that you can now pick up at the Verizon FIOS store. No need to have techs to come out.

If anyone needs a referral, PM me with your name and e-mail address, and I will send you one.

Are any current Verizon subscribers getting this to work? I have FIOS now and am not on contract. When I enter my phone number it says that I do not qualify for this deal.

Yeah, I've thought about running an HTPC. We have 3 TVs, but two are old and don't use HD. One of those only has the digital adapter box attached to it, so there's no guide or anything, but it's free. By the time I put together a PC, add the Ceton card, and pick up media extenders, I'd spend a lot out of pocket. I normally wouldn't mind, but I'm the tech guy in the house, and I spend a lot of time out of the country, so if something goes wrong, I'm not on site to diagnose and repair.

I think I'm just going to try and get the free multi-room DVR with this deal, so that should leave me paying for just the standard box on the one TV for at least the next two years. After that, if my situation changes, maybe I'll build an HTPC.

What I'd really like to see is Verizon switch to IPTV and consumers be able to use something like an XBox 360 as their box/DVR. It's unlikely that will happen, though, since they make a killing off their rental DVRs and don't want to give that up.

I tried the link and it says "No Term Contract Required" and with $300 visa and same $79.99. What is the condition on the VISA offer? Do I need to stay in service for 30, 60, or 120 days? I was FIOS customer before and maybe that makes the "Term" difference?

I'm signed up w/ Verizon but the prices of the boxes are high =(. I'm on a $79.99/month Double Play plan for Cable and Internet but after 2 cable boxes and tax, it's about $126.xx/month, we're on a month-to-month plan. I know the HD-DVR box is $19.99/month and the regular Standard box is $9.99/month. Makes me want to switch to Dish Network where the boxes come free, but we don't have any other Internet service providers for our area other than Verizon or Time Warner.

I had Verizon FiOS for several years. Two months ago, I left FiOS to try Comcast because of a Triple Play Deal that I thought was similar to what I had with FiOS, but was around $70 per month cheaper. So without contacting Verizon to try and get my bill lowered, I made the switch. I thought that I could switch to Comcast for 2 years (the length of the cheaper promotion) and then return to FiOS to take advantage of whatever offer they were going to run at the time. So, everything was switched... TV, Voice and Internet.

So, we tried Comcast for a week or so and just knew we were not happy. We knew what we had with FiOS and LOVED it... even more so after our entire Comcast experience. So, I looked into switching back from Comcast to FiOS. Comcast has a 30 day money back guarantee and I knew I needed to take full advantage of it. So, I went on Verizon's Web site and signed back up with FiOS. The reinstallation date of FiOS would be several days within the 30 day guarantee from Comcast. So, not only did I get my good old FiOS back - I was able to sign up for a $79.99 Triple Play offer that is guaranteed for 2 years and includes a free multi-room DVR for life (currently valued at $19.99 per month). OMG

So, if given the option to take the $300 prepaid Visa card or the free multi-room DVR for life - get the DVR! It will save you well over $300 in the long run. It would actually save you nearly $480 during the 2 year price guarantee time alone. That is at least an additional $180 saving alone. OMG

So by leaving, going to Comcast for nearly a month and coming back... I estimate I will save approx $2,000 (including the one month of free service through Comcast). over the span of only 2 years. worship

Now, I must add the disclaimer that YMMV if you try to recreate my SlickDeal. LMAO

PS... If you like what I wrote and believe you will switch, Private Message me and I will send you a referral code. It would be greatly appreciated.
I am in a similar situation with Cablevision. Fios spoiled me for three years. Since I loved my fios DVR, I might go with free multi room DVR and save the $16 a month I would get.
The problem is, when I terminated my fios contract to get in on the cheaper cablevision triple play, they said they would reimburse my termination fee from fios. Unfortunately they still have not, and it has been nearly a month since I sent in my proof. Haven't even gotten a reception acknowledgment. If I were to switch again to Fios, I wonder if I still have a chance to get my termination fee back from cablevision or have Verizon wave it since it has only been two months? I really want fios back but in a pickle. Confused

if this is a contract, dont be so quick to jump in....they have many promotions without the chains of a 2 year contract...just not worth being tied down for that long...

I'd like to know more on this...cause paying $16 a month per box vs another option that pays itself off probably in a year, Im all ears.
