Deal Details

For those who needs a portable generator, especially folks in North East region where got hit hard by the historical Oct Snow Storm, Costco has this Champion 7500/9375 Watt Generator With Electric Start for $699.99.

I bought one in Nashua, NH local warehouse this morning, the 40 units that they restocked this morning all sold out in just a few hours. So better call them before you drive to the local warehouse. The Costco Item number for this Generator is #598906. Other local warehouses may have sightly different model like Danvers, MA store has the 7000/9000 Watt Model which is also sold for the same price. Item number is #562296.

For comparison, Costco used to have this ETQ TG72B12 generator with power output of 8250 watt surge and 7250 watts of continuous power on sale $849.99 - $200.00 = $649.99 (includes shipping). That was listed as front page deal two month ago.

It is not listed online. several models with lower power rating are listed though.

Call your local warehouse with the item number that I listed in the original post. They tend to run out quick, call before you drive to the local warehouse.

How do you connect these things to your house? Do you just plug it in to your home outlets or something?

Not sure about this particular model but I think optimally you get an electrician to tie the stuff you want working together so you can easily go to one spot and power the heater, fridge, lights, etc. Trying to get more info on it now...hopefully someone else in the know can post links and info

The Yurmaster states that this is a good deal. This is a big generator and will easily power all of the essentials and then some.
Really you need to be able to power your:
1.Sump pump
2.Some sort of heat source at least for one or two rooms
2.Your refrigerator and/or freezer...but you can power these in 3-4 hour intervals minimizing opening and closing the doors.
3. Internet, TV, DVD player, cell phone chargers...I wiould like at some sort of UPS for these items though.
4. Lights

Use Stabil in the gas and run it every month for 10 minutes or so and then shut the fuel supply lever off and let it run until it stops.
The Yurmaster says the power grid in the NE and Mid-Atlantic states has become increasingly unreliable.

The Yurmaster bought the KingCraft at Aldis for the slickdeal of $212 incl. tax.

I thought this was a very good deal. I have been looking for a generator since the recent snowstorm in NJ left us without power for 7 days. I called the Costco in Union and was told that there were eight units left for item #562296. When I got there I asked a Costco rep where the units wrere and was told that they haven't any generators for awhile. Thankfully he asked another rep who had just put out two. I grabbed one and headed out the door a very happy consumer. A good deal for $750 w tax. Thanks starsd.

Didn't see any in Wayne, NJ. Didn't ask either...do you call the general customer service line to ask for availability? Also, how big is the box, definitely need a truck/SUV?

It is 31.5" wide x 24" high x 22" deep.

The hard part was loading it by myself. I stood it up on its end on the flat Costco cart, put it against the folded down tailgate, blocked the cart wheels, and then lifted while also tipping it into the SUV. It weighs more than I do.

To the idiot above from Cape May, NJ who likes to talk about himself using third person, please stop talking!
Now to your statement about unreliable power grid, do you even know how a power grid works? CL&P literally re-wired the entire state in 12 days.
