$50 Sign Up Bonus Fidelity American Express 2% Rewards Card for spending $2500 (YMMV)

First Deal I've posted on SD, so hopefully I'm doing this right. After all the good things I've seen on credit cards here, I wanted to see if I could contribute.

I know this isn't the best bonus for signing up a new credit card, but considering that the Amex Fidelity has 2% cash back and rarely provides sign up bonuses, I thought this was worth posting. This is probably YMMV, but it didn't take much to get the bonus.

I have been following all of the discussions surrounding the FIA Fidelity American Express 2% rewards card, and decided to apply for a card. I had some questions on the card, so I called them up at 866-598-4971 to inquire.

The woman I spoke with answered my questions, and I told her I would apply online later. She then indicated that if I were to apply today, that I could get a $50 statement credit once I had spent $2500. She stated there was no time line within to spend the $2500, and that the spending could occur over multiple statements.

I referenced "VAA457" to the operator when I spoke to her on the phone.

She offered this bonus prior to running any kind of a credit check, so it didn't seem to be tied to any credit score, etc.
