Chase Freedom Credit Card $300 CashBack General Questions

I would make one tiny purchase each month, but I don't think there will be an repercussions as long as you don't close the account, just keep it open

no catch, they may close your account after ~5 years of inactivity or more... but the 5% rewards are pretty good, esp once you start shopping for groceries / restaurant / travel

the real question is will you be approved? how is your credit score, and how is your credit history?

I am pending. My parents were instant.

Figure I'll be able to open it up within the next couple years.

I applied last night and I'm pending as well... first time it happened to me. Think it's b/c I just opened up a Chase card (Southwest Rapid Rewards VISA signature) and got a huge credit line 4-5 months ago, in addition to another Chase credit card I no longer use.

Chase doesn't seem like to like it if you get too many of their cards. I was pending, then questioned when I was getting the Southwest card, I had to make up some crap reason to why I was getting it (I was only getting it for the 50000 points sign up bonus, lol). I have a Freedom and Sapphire as well.

you're right... I called in to check the status and I was declined b/c I got the Southwest card 4 months ago. I did App Reconsider, and I actually asked if they could remove my old Chase Disney card (which I used like 5 years ago for some Balance Transfers) to approve me for this card. It worked, I think they had to do a hard credit pull, but I got it approved (with my old card's lower credit line) almost instantly.

$300 free + better rewards here I come

So I have spent more than $500 in about 2 months, and I still dont see the reward points of $300.
Have any of you been able to get it? What is the process?

I would say contact Chase.. major credit card companies/banks usually have pretty good customer support (I've dealt with Discover, and they were very easy to talk to). Have your latest statement open and ready to verify with them, tell them the situation, see what they can do for you.

First though, check the terms of the card. It might exclude certain types of purchases, have a specific timeframe, etc.

No catch. But if you don't want them to close the card, use it once every few months for a pack a gum.

They'll just pull your credit in the initial application. After that, store it in a sock drawer if you don't' want to use it.
