Do you own an iPod touch? and do you have the patience to wait for the iPhone after the 4S? As of now I would go iPhone if you don't have an iPod touch, but android technology is getting more and more powerful, and in the future we're going to be seeing quad-core phones.
I would wait until the new iPhone comes out and then decide whether you want to get the Android or not. Or if you want to get a new phone now get the iPhone and switch to android if you want to when your contract is up.
Right now I do own an Android, but am looking more and more at the iPhone ( it seems that you can find apps for both easily) although the app store has them all readily available and they seem to be already tested, and the android market seems to have just as many ( if not more) available apps that can do the same thing ( and in some cases MUCH more)...
I would say if you can do a LOT of research and check both out thoroughly... unless you want to go the route of testing BOTH on a prepaid service first ( if you have that kind of time)... hope it helps...
You really can't go wrong with either - they're both excellent platforms. The biggest difference (IMHO) is that the iPhone is easier to use, while the Android is more flexible & powerful in terms of what you can do with it.
I think IPHONE is good touch sensitive, in addition to his operation interface is also a very human, ANDORID APP support is not good. If you want to experience the fun of brush machine, ANDROID is also a good choice!
I have used ipods, ipads, iphones, and androids. My most recent phone is android and I love it. I have used and played with many many android devices before picking my recent phone. The iphone will offer you an easier to use experience if you have never used a smartphone before. Which is the sole reason my parents have iphones. I consider myself more of a power user/geek which is why I prefer the android environment. Just be aware once you decide on an OS you will have a hard time switching after purchasing apps, will you really want to repurchase them on the other system? Both OS have pros/cons, I suggest talking to friends and playing with phones to see what you are most comfortable with. You should be happy no matter which way you go.
