There is no law which says that you can not have multiple facebook accounts and I doubt T&C say that facebook friend's address should be different. So you should be good.
I believe it is against the FB ToS, so that's why I didn't say with certainty. Would suck if you shared with a fake account and it was shut down before you could redeem.

To everyone who has not gotten ANY gifts from the gift chain even though you've been making $25+ purchases on your Amex at the listed retailers:
- Make sure the email address you registered with is the email address listed for your card. If you have multiple email addresses on your card, make sure the one you used to register is your card's primary email.
- To be safe, use that email address for all of your orders.

I never got a gift from my first Zappos order. Checked my Amex account and realized that I had used my alternate email to register. So I updated the email on my account to reflect the gift chain one and all of my 10 subsequent purchases have gotten gifts.

Hope this helps!

That was a coincidence I believe. None of my cards were registered with the email on the account, and I have gotten all of my gifts except on average one per CC. Usually between #3 and #7 or so one doesn't show up.

Redeemed my first gift. Placed a zappos order early this week and received a gift for $25 credit on my next zappos purchase. Placed another zappos order right after I received that gift and today I got an e-mail that said I redeemed my gift and will see the $25 credit in 3-5 days.

Do I get to keep the gifts if I cancel the order? I have received the gift card email from Amex and still see the option to cancel the order on merchant's site.

Ignoring the ethical side of that (which I am sure others will cover) it would be hard to say. Amex will be able to see the charge never went through, so it is possible they would not ship you the GC. Or put you on their naughty list for future promos. Really you should just keep the purchase and not try to so obviously rip off Amex.

Oops, I guess I didn't leave the ethical side out of it. Amex has awesome promos all the time, but if people abuse them too much they might stop. That's why I don't attempt things like you mention, even more than the ethics.

I can give up the GC, just received $2 DD GC. So cancelling the order and making another purchase in hope of a better gift.

TRU is definitely giving fewer out right now. I was getting 9/10 on one CC, and the last two cards I had several orders that got nothing at all.

Wow, I really cleaned up on this promo. Let's hope they actually mail all of the prizes! (Edit: Added the one that came 13 hours late.)

My haul:

1) Mailed in 'no purchase' entry, specified TRU. (Was planning to mail 10, but decided to make purchases online instead) Hopefully there's still something left by the time they process this one.
2) Wal-mart $25 GC = One year ShopRunner
3) Wal-mart $25 GC = $2 statement credit (D'oh! Rollover pool...onto the next merchant)
4) Toys R' US ~$65 purchase of LEGO (buy one, get one half off) = 4x $5 Starbucks cards
5) Toys R' US ~$25 purchase of more LEGO = $20 statement credit
6) Toys R' US $25 GC = 4x $10 Amex Cards (sent 3 to friends, will split value with them)
7) Toys R' US $25 GC = $25 statement credit on next TRU purchase (this one took about 13 hours to arrive. Was this to stop the other gift chain purchases from counting as it?)
8) Toys R' US $26 GC (changed amount in case that got the last one stuck) = $50 Amex gift card bounce
9) Toys R' US $27 GC = Another 4x $10 Amex Cards (sent 3 to friends, will split value with them)
10) Toys R' US $29 = $20 Toys R' Us Gift Card

It definitely looks like TRU is the merchant to go with...

Total value (not counting ShopRunner, which doesn't appear to have a dollar value anymore...) so far: $217 (one more gift pending, from TRU pool.)

And with all of those gift cards I bought to get the Amex gifts, I have an excuse to buy a bunch more at TRU in January when stuff goes on sale... Smilie

I don't have enough samples to know if it's actually working this way or not, but try varying the amount by $1 or so on the gift card purchases. Possibly doing a few in a row at the same amount gets flagged in the system as the same or possibly a duplicate order.

Yes you can. They're not even registered to an account so you can send it to yourself via a different email address.
You don't even have to use a different e-mail address. Smilie

Only if that's very new, since I have been ordering all day and not had that problem until very recently. Of my last 4 orders I got shoprunner, nothing, $10 credit, nothing. A far cry from earlier today.

So, how are gifts seeded throughout the promotion period (until 12/21)? As it seems (practically) every purchase gets a gift, do they ready another random gift as soon as last one is awarded? Just wondering if there is a slightly better chance of not getting a low-value gift once the SD effect wears off? I mean, shouldn't the "good" gifts be spaced out between all the low value stuff. I am sure a mathematician could calculate the best time to strike relative to the (hypothetical) distribution of good to lesser gifts and the initial swell of entries.

BTW, I placed two TRU orders yesterday and got a ShopRunner and a $5 Godiva GC. Previously got two $5 statement credits from 2 other stores and the gift for my very first order from WM is MIA. I mailed in five "free" entries on Wednesday. Hoping I get lucky with my timing relative to the seeding process.
