Just a quick heads up: I know it says the coupon has been sent to you, but the email still hasn't been sent to me. So, once you fill everything out...it's a good idea to just click on the "print coupon" button so you make sure you get your coupon instantly.

Big warning these "Banfield" vets are very shady and will try to sell you on anything please be weary with whatever diagnosis they give your dog if you take them in. They will almost for sure say something is wrong and it needs some type of medicine, they will also try to sell you on a Puppy Wellness Plan don't do it... the vets have their payscale ranked by their overall sales of the stores or something. If they say something is wrong with your dog do not pay for any crazy stuff they try to sell you on PLEASE please take them to another vet and receive a second opinion before you spend any money.

Great deal!!
I used a similar deal earlier this year for Banfield. Be prepared for a hard sell, similar to a time-share presentation. I took my dog for a quick exam because he had an upset stomach. I was pressed by 4 different people to sign up for their "pet insurance" that costs 60 dollars a month, plus a 79 dollar activation fee. I politely declined their service numerous time and the Vet there tried to hard sell me for a dog dental cleaning for $180. I said no thanks, but she kept dropping the price by 30 dollar increments.

After leaving the Vet, a Vet tech asked me one last time if I wanted the "pet insurance." I politely declined and she said, "I'll waive the activation fee." Again I said no and took my dog home.

My normal vet costs $45 for an exam and I should of paid the money. It made me sick to my stomach that there's D.V.M. and companies that hard sell you for benefits that your pet may not need.

Buyer beware.

Just so you know, not all Banfield hospitals are like that. We used to take our pets there mostly because they were the closest vet. Their prices were quite reasonable, and they never tried to sell us anything. Overall, I was quite happy with their services. Of course, you should still be cautious with these national chains.

In case you're wondering, I went to the Columbus, OH branch at Polaris.

I know someone who worked part time at petsmart during summer vacation, he told me many many horror stories of the vet "hospital" at his store. Could not pay me enough to bring my cat there.

I'll have to agree with the others on their hard sell. They scared me into the plan telling me that a my cat with a UI infection was going to end up costing $900 without the plan. My own fault for not shopping around.
Even if you do sign up they will nickle and dime you. Over charging for medication and special services.
On the plus side they have good hours and can be easy to work with.

Agreed. My guy was ok, a little bit of a rookie. I did hear of others with horror stories.

Every single person I know who went to vet school (my girlfriend went to Texas A&M and knows a bunch of vets) says that for the most part it's the crappy vets who can't get jobs in private practice that end up working at Banfield.

I also know a couple of people who have horror stories about Banfield where the vet ends up completely misdiagnosing something serious or doesn't do a typically standard tests that a good vet would have done.

Anyways, I know that people on this website love deals, especially when they're free but when it comes to the well being of your pet, buyer-beware.
