How to cash SEARS gift cards

befriendly 349 173 November 28, 2011 at 06:04 PM
Hello friends,
Can you guys advise if there is a better way to CASH $2,000 worth of SEARS cards that I have?

I know that I can shop at K-mart, SEARS, Land End, and The Great Indoors. Unfortunately, none of the stores are close to me and I do not have major purchase that would need $2K. Are there options that will let me cash these? Please advise and Thanks.

Most online websites that turn gift cards into cash give probably 60%-80%.
You might be able to get close to 90% back via Ebay (before fees).
Or try and find someone on Craigslist. I've seen people advertise on there that buy gift cards but am not sure how much you will get back.

Sears' Parts Dept. won't let you use a Sears gift card! Maybe being so behind the times is one of the reasons they're closing all those stores.

I'd suggest you use them as soon as possible.

Good luck!

selling on ebay is probably your best bet.

You could get better returns by buying slickdeals that pop at those stores and then reselling the items on ebay or cl, but that is a somewhat risky venture and an awful lot of hassle.
