Based on this scale I would put Dead Island with friends at an "Awesome.5", yes, .5 points PAST awesome.

Seriously though, at $20, this is a steal. If you don't have friends playing it already, tell them to pick it up and you'll have a blast.

The guys I played Borderlands with and I ran through this a bunch of times.

I know that Yahtzee very rarely gives a glowing review, but he really seemed to hate this one. Of course, as usual, he was focused on the single-player campaign.

Good price for Payday, especially with that extra $5 offer for later. It was $9.99 during the Thanksgiving Steam sale. The game itself is pretty fun and gets real intense if you play multiplayer. Gameplay reminds me of L4D in that you had different classes of zombies to fight against. In Payday, you fight against different classes of police and each mission is objectives based, requiring a high level of teamwork. There are also lots of unlocks to obtain and challenges to complete for rep (like challenges for exp in Call of Duty).

As for Dead Island, I got it on release day (along with its bugs). Even after all the patching, I'd say I wouldn't pay more than $10-15 for the game. It's very fun to play at first but it gets old fast by the time you reach the second large part of the campaign story.
