Looks like they're discontinuing this model. Still a good deal for a new Yamaha receiver, but I'm waiting for a deal on a Yamaha network receiver.

What do you get out of a network receiver? iTunes, media server type stuff, or are you talking about online media like Netflix?

I'm looking for a A/V receiver in this range, and 5.1 is OK with me. My old JVC RX-7010V's center channel seems to be dead and I need a more modern replacement. I'm a moderate audiophile, but not up with audio technology. I've also got cable, PS3, etc to hook up. Is this the best deal in the $150 range?

One nice thing is this will accept PCM over HDMI (which makes PS3 hookup great).

Its not all the great to be honest. Its nice for tech people but not so good for any joe schmoe off the street. Plus the network receiver has a built in GUI that does not play nice with Harmony Remotes...

Sorry, why is PCM good for PS3? The PS3 doesn't do DTS or DD? If true, isn't that pretty lame for a BluRay player? (Bear with me, I'm learning all this stuff.)

Never mind. Was looking up wrong model. I would avoid this one due to lack of HDMI audio handling.

Agree 100%. My harmony just conchs out.

If only this had 5 channel pre-amp outputs.. A Perfect low-cost Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master HD preamp .. cant wait for the RX-V667 to go on sale somewhere..
