on 12/1 and 12/2 on livingsocial.com they will be selling certificates for 5 Big Mac/Large Fries for $13

Enjoy

EDIT: The way it will work is you will buy a $13 voucher on livingsocial.com with your address info. McDonalds will then mail you the certificate booklet. I guess it works similar to the way some of the movie ticket deals have worked in the past from AMC.

1 million booklets will be sold. I'm guessing this will sell out very quickly.

Refer to the wiki for more information.

1. If you get problem, call the following phone# (From living social's email response to my complain):
Quote :
To apologize for the inconvenience, McDonald's would also like to send you a $5 McDonald’s Arch Card, which you can get by calling them at 866-919-2653.
2. You can bring your receipt to Mcdonald's for refund if you already been charged more than tax.

Here is a Picture if anyone is interested in showing their nearest mcdonald to get it through

Big Mac and Fries are FREE PER CORPORATE. If you get charged for something other than tax, CALL UP CORPORATE TO COMPLAIN. This is a glitch in their system and calling them will alert the store operator to manually change to only the taxes.

Corporate Number: 1-800-244-6227
7 days a week
7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST

For the early birds, this seems like the way to do it.

Looks Like, not all McDonalds's have been trained on Living Social Procedure.

I use Fries coupon and was charged $1.00 for it at the Bellflower, CA location.

I called Corporate, it resolved the issue.

how was it resolved?
I called from Corporate 2 days later. They sent me $5.00 in $1.00 coupons. Also, the day after, the customer service liaison at the store will provided one complimentary meal. Just mention the person name.

Lesson learn? Try to make $1.00 intentionally or unintentionally. Now, it cost you more than $1.00.

Lastly, McDonald's probably aware of this thread.

McDonald's Corporate are as strict about $$$ with their Stores especially Franchise stores as number of packets for Chicken McNugget sauces at the store level.

Use my first ones last week. Went smoothly after the cashier asked for help from a more experienced employee (different colored shirts). The cashier was all like wow that cheap? The other person explained that I had already paid for the food and showed her how to press the buttons, scratch the certificate and enter that in...and hold onto the certificate.

Even though it took more than 5mins to get my food...I went inside because I knew it would probably backup the drivethru. Not bad, I'll try to use this store because some of them know what they're doing now.

My wife was charged $1 and $1.50 she didnt dispute as to not cause a scene...anyone have this issue?
Yeah, tried charging me $1.50 for the Big Mac. Told me it was the tax on the burger. I said how is it possible, get me a manager. Finally they got someone who knew what they were doing and when I got to the drive thru and gave them the voucher they were able to take the other $1.50 off.

The stores in San Francisco gave me no problem. They charged me $0.21 tax on both the sandwich and the french fries. I am surprised Mcdonalds workers are charging you $1. I bet they don't even put it in the register and just pocket it themselves. Pathetic.

Based on the problems I had, I don't think they pocketed anything--just bad training on McD's part.

It's July and my husband went to two McD's today with poor results at both. The first charged full price with a dollar off. Even the manager insisted this was the case...gave him the "do you want your food or not" line. Not. The next did the $1 and $1.50 charge...by that time he and my daughter were hungry and said whatever. I just sat on hold for far too long...suppose it is a holiday, eh. Try again tomorrow. Shot off an email though because, damn, 7 months later and still this.

I don't understand why they made it so difficult. I used one my wife gave me on July 3rd and was charged $1.50. I did not notice it because I guess they are running a soda special where all sizes are a $1.00. So the total was in the ball park. This was in Lowell MA. A glitch should not last 7 months. Guess I will call the 800 number so my wife does not nag me for not looking at the receipt carefully.

Anyone still having issues? I tried using them last week while traveling (excuse to eat bad foods for cheap/no money), and the manager said they were expired (the cashier had asked for help with the coupons). I didn't feel like arguing, but I feel like this is kind of ridiculous- they Literally say, "No Expiration Date." on the fine print of the coupons themselves.

I used McDonald's general comment/question webpage, so I hope to hear back about what I'm supposed to do to redeem their value.

I used one recently and argued with the cashier about the $2.50 charge. I told him to enter the numbers but he refused to try. Haven't heard back from them about that yet, but I did get a nice call from one of the franchisees regarding a previous issue.

I've actually been avoiding McD's just so I don't have to use the couple of coupons I have left. Great promo, horrible execution.
