I am looking to find a nice z68 motherboard. It's going to go into an antec 900 v3, with an i7-2600k. I am looking to spend $150~$180. Must haves are HDMI, UEFI, USB3.0(back plus internal header), GIGABIT, decent sound with spdif output, SLI support, SSD Caching
also looking for a decent deal on a PSU, HD, and Optical drive.
I am looking to save a few bucks now by not getting a graphics card, and get it a little later, when I save up some more money. Also, I plan on having this computer always on, so I would prefer something that has good power saving features. Like disabling the GPU and using on board graphics, except when I actually need the graphics,etc...
I might go for the P8Z68-V/GEN3, both these motherboards were the ones I was looking at myself. I guess, I am looking to see if there is anything else on the market witch fits my criteria,
There are lots of other options that meet your criteria.
Gigabyte's lower end Z68 boards don't use true UEFI, they use a UEFI bootloader, then run a standard old-school BIOS on top of that. They do support >2TB HDD's, but don't have the flashy new interface. Is this OK?
