What do the gauges mean? I assume it has to do with the quality of the train. We bought our son the G Gauge Polar Express train for Christmas ($99 - a $50 MIR making is $49 after rebate). The better ones weren't in our price range for this year, but I'm not really clear on what the difference even is.

O gauge = 1.25" and about 1/48th scale G gauge = 1.75" and about 1/22nd scale Search for 'model train gauge' and you'll find lots of info. |
