These trees drink A LOT of water, a lot more than you think.... Here is a picture of mine. BAD311, instead of starting this whole debate...Let's just say that the big box stores located in a town greatly contribute to the towns rateables. To each his own...Merry Christmas
"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." - Abraham Lincoln

I picked up one from my costco in Charleston on Thanksgiving weekend, but there is no way they had any left after Sunday. They said they had one truck, and that was it. There was a line most of the day just to get a tree. The one I got was great, its been taking up a ton of water. They do this each year, but this is the first time I've made it in time.

Local guy: $30 Go local. Same tree. Less resources consumed. Money stays in your town, then that guy who sells the trees then walks into my local business and buys product from me vs. running off to Costco and saving... ZERO! Yea, go local. Don't get me started on my feelings about realtors, we'll be here awhile. Now go eat your Costco leftover turkey and stuffing as your neighbor who you didn't support is evicted from their home. |
