This has potential for linux fans. Link [androidcentral.com]. Look for "Rayanmx" posts. Looks like he/she is using it with an alternative ubuntu image on the Atrix or it's SD card.

Spoke with AT&T customer service on 12/14/11 and they said their ordering system received more than 3000 orders for the lapdock when it was on sale for $50. Their system couldn't update the stock levels on the website in real time. Currently their inventory levels are -345 in their primary warehouse and -3000 in their secondary warehouse. They tried to procure those units from the manufacturer but the manufacturer probably didn't agree on the $50 price! They are not going to stock up these units anymore, hence those order cancellations.

The best explanation I've gotten in 1 week for this lapdock order madness! Also very impressed that an accessory to the original ATRIX is still strong demand!
