In FL it's a 2 year warranty Smilie

Random but... My 360 (that is under GameStop warranty) is having disk read issues. I wonder if I bring it in for a new one I can get the free warranty instead of paying the $20. Hmmm

Too bad they don't have the $99.99 deal for the 20GB 360 bundles anymore. =/

2 years? Didn't know that; might have to pick one up before I leave.

I didn't either. I'm from NH and moved here a few years ago. Shortly after I moved our 360 got the rrod. We were 3 days past warranty but I took it in anyway. They let it slide since FL gamestops only do 2 year warranties. Paid another $20 when I swapped it out to be on the safe side for 2 years lol

What mess? It was a price mistake (happens with every store). Did I miss something that classified it as a "mess"?

I don't blame you for not trusting them, They are out to get every last cent they can from you. Overall they are pretty solid about backing their stuff up. Not shopping there because they are greedy bastiges is one thing, not shopping there because they don't honor their warranty agreement isn't exactly accurate.

They MAY have changed their system since I bought my last bit of hardware from them, but make SURE you keep your receipt and warranty info somewhere safe. They do NOT keep a copy of it in store and if you don't have it, you are SOL for getting a warranty replacement.

I had to call corporate it was a HUGE fight, all because I misplaced my crap. My fault obviously, but the system is set up to put the burden on the customer. If you lose your crap and your system breaks you could very possibly be SOL.

This has been a few years now, but I would still make sure you put that info in a very safe spot.

While I still recommend keeping your receipt, all warranties are transmitted to corporate and they are able to see if you have a valid warranty or not based on the serial number for the system but you'll have to bring it in for them to check. YMMV on if the employee knows how to do it. Handhelds are more difficult though since sometimes they won't have a serial number (it wears off since its portable and a sticker out in the open).

To the people wondering about the 2 year warranty in FL, it is due to them using a different company providing the warranties. NC also does this and a few other states.

They system will mark the warranty down to zero so you should not have to pay.
