Rebate Forms Caution: Office Depot Black Friday Deal on Norton Internet Security 2012

Here's a caution on the rebate forms for the Office Depot Black Friday deal on Norton Internet Security 2012.

Both of the rebate forms that printed out required the original proof of purchase from the box flap. Usually, one requires the proof of purchase and the other the UPC. I just called the Symantec Rebate line(1-866-206-8800--> FAQ--> Press "0") and I was told that the forms for both rebates are still "pending". (The offers are #11-67407 and #11-67547).

The CSR told me I could wait about a week for the forms to be finalized and download those from Symantec's rebate site or I could submit both without the proof of purchase and wait for the rejection letters and a request for the missing items. I'm going to wait a week.
