For info on how to put Linux on the device go here [archlinuxarm.org] It is not as hard as it sounds.

These devices make great little file servers, media servers, torrent clients,... since they are low power and thus can run 24/7.

If you put Jeff's uboot on it, it will likely brick it, as i believe these use different hardware than the older ones.
