Get Deal

Thread Details

http://tnid.us/
I know this freebie won't be for everyone but it works well for me. I got tired of trying to do a google search of phone numbers only to get pages of useless search results - most of which end up with an advertisment to some pay service. But I've used http://tnid.us/ for free for a couple months now and the results have actually been pretty good.

If someone has a better or comparable free service they know of please share a link.

lol, I entered my cell number (AT&T) and my name came up. However, I entered my GF's Verizon Wireless number and it just said Verizon Wireless Subscriber.
Yeah, it looks like AT&T freely publishes your info whereas Verizon does not.

Thanks. It looks like the land line ID's are fairly current. The cell numbers seem to have a more accurate location if you click the "Check Availability" link which is to an Intelius ad but gives the proper city. I've used Intelius in the past and their records are not always that great though.

BTW, this "tracker" is just going off the area code info. Not that big a deal, really. It says I'm located in Houston simply because I kept my 713 area code when I moved out of Texas 3 1/2 years ago. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I checked my cell phone number and the http://tnid.us came back as AT&T Kansas City area, which is weird because the KC area has a different area code than where I am at. But when I checked the Intelius link I was given the correct and current city. AT&T had my name associated with my number.

No, just pointing out how useless it is to use a free service like this. If all you care about is where an area code is, use this: http://www.bennetyee.org/ucsd-pages/area.html because that's really all you're going to get from any of those reverse look-up sites for free.

And my aluminium foil pyramid hat keeps them from tracking me by the cranial implant anyway. Wink

I think a big use these sites may get are scammers. They can do the lookup in a specific area and get a whole slew of names and #'s easily. I know my dad had someone call his house one day asking for him and said how they knew there was a bad storm and was calling everyone in the area. They were trying to sell something to do with roofing and sounded like a big time scam. He NEVER gives his info to anyone, even for the most innocent things (he practically doesn't exist lol), but his info is on those sites. I'm gonna make sure to let him know to remove it all.

Thanks and repped!

Ok. There may be several other sites that are similar and from the same parent company, just different url names. I'll try to add them to the wiki if I run across any more.
