Office Depot's $1000+ in FAR software with combined Tax software or Tax forms purchase (2012) UPDATED 01/21/2012

What does this second part mean? Specifically, what is it asking for when it says "Product on Receipt"

It has this on the NIS 2012 bundle pre-submission form as well.

It doesn't ask for original UPC code anywhere; it doesn't even ask for a copy of the UPC of the tax software/forms as far as I can tell....

EDIT: I'm not seeing the UPC from tax software/forms required on ANY of the Norton products. Only on Webroot, Avira, and I'm very confused about whether it's needed on Avanquest. The terms are pretty ambiguous

so by buying this crap would it have any impact on me actually getting my money back in recycling carts?. i must have easily spent 1600 bucks on various crap, and was told that didnt make a dent in getting $ for my carts and effort!!!!!. i hate office depot when it comes to this kind of crap and their worklife system!.

While the original terms appeared to require the tax product upc code and same receipt, the updated terms require neither.

Good catch on Avanquest Fix-It. It only requires a copy, not an original, of the tax product upc code.

I am not sure what your issue is unless you were a victim of the term change:

Office Depot changed it's terms effective July 1, 2011 to require quarterly purchases to release quarterly recycling -- neither qualified purchases nor unreleased recycling carryover from quarter to quarter anymore.

Given that nothing carries over past the quarter's end and the 10 cart per month limit at $2 per cart, only up to $60 of this "crap" is useful for releasing recycling rewards.

That said, up to all of this "crap" is useful for spending rewards ....

UPDATE 01/21/2012:

The Norton rebate forms have been changed/updated so that neither the tax product upc code/proof of purchase nor same receipt are required.

Avanquest Fix-It has been moved to the "Combined FAR titles with new rebates for this promotion period" category.

LapLink DiskImage has been added.

sucks so now $1,202.80 in purchases amount to $60 This is why i like staples rewards more. its cool you posted this but its not changing my attitude towards OD. The only thing that makes me smile if its from OD is clearance or getting paid without mailing in rebates for software items. crap is crap the stuff from last year is just getting dust i should just chuck it or set it on fire.

No, the rebate forms are not the same. Compare points #3 and #4 on the two rebate forms.

My bad, I see now. Idk why I thought we didnt need to buy the tax things for the Norton rebates.

This is awesome - I spent almost $200 during Office Depot's anniversary sale - and am still waiting for the rewards. I am hopeful that I can get some coupon to make this worthwhile - this is my plan to spend it!

If you are buying the AVG Internet Security be aware there are 2 versions. The one that the rebates apply to includes PC Tuneup and is 708862. The "regular" version is 708817, which OD sold me, probably does not qualify as it did not generate the rebate forms from the cash register.

I just found this out the hard way. Will do a return/rebuy tonight since it's FAR this week and staples 15% off coupon expires today.

It's also interesting that the standard AVG $40 rebate will be paid as a check while the $40 upgrade rebate will be paid as a debit card. This is the first AVG rebate that I've seen in a long time that says it will send a check.

On another note, Trend Micro always pays checks when the rebates are through OD (including with this tax software deal), but pays debit cards when the rebates are from Newegg or Fry's. OD must have a special arrangement with them.

Product on Receipt and Store Receipt are exactly the same thing. Parago lists both on separate lines just to confuse people.
