Odd eBay question The person that won has 0 feedback and just registered with ebay today (12/11). The paypal payment went through immediately to a confirmed address although the sender is unregistered (not sure what that means? does that mean they don't have a paypal account?). The address on the ebay account is a man in OH. The address on the paypal payment email is a woman in GA. The only item the same between the 2 addresses is the email address, FWIW. What the hell is going on? I mean, if you're going to scam someone, you'd use a bogus or new paypal account that's unconfirmed, not a new ebay account. Ideas? |

Late last week I had someone purchase a bottle of Vintage Perfume from me. The buyer is registered in Moscow but I do not ship out of the country (and my auctions state that) so she paid for it but had me ship to someone in the US. When I called eBay to see if it was safe to ship because on my confirming email from PayPal the shipping address was marked confirmed but when I went into the details of the transaction it was marked unconfirmed the eBay CS Rep told me I was shipping at my own risk. Since I have gotten other wrong information from eBay reps I called PayPal to make sure. Honestly- if you want a straight and accurate answer call PayPal -they actually know what they are doing as a rule. I emailed the buyer at PayPal's suggestion and confirmed I was shipping to the US-not Russia. I got the written confirmation from the buyer. Since this perfume sold for close to 200. I did not want to ship without some reassurance that I would not have a problem. PayPal also assured me I am protected under the Seller Protection on this and the agent gave me her name and ID number. It sounds like your situation is similar and my suggestion would be before you ship out--just call PayPal and confirm it is okay and get the information from the person that gave you the go ahead so you have it for your records. I hope this makes sense- if not let me know and I will try to clarify. |

but if you must sell on ebay, you should expect to be shafted sooner or later by them, its a given. Otherwise you can sell on Amazon or trade the item in to some stores for cash.. |
