Pretty good deal. But I tink the 15R direct from Dell (with $125 Amex card) that came to about $400 net with a physical copy of Adobe Elements 10 was a better deal. It was a bit of work too.. I bought one at the very end and afterwards was thinking.. should have bought 2. Those specs were a bit better too

Good deal for those who couldn't get one from dell.

Right now you can get a 15R with 500GB HDD from dell for $540. Comes with a $125 camera and you can use the $50 GC offer with it, but this deal is better IMO because there is no camera, no tax, and no GC hassle.

Shows $449 total for me as well- Line 1 is $50 GC shows shipping tomorrow/ Line 2 is PC. Wonder if they intend on shipping the GC as well?

Ugh. I'd rather companies not include a hard drive if they want to stick a stupid 5400RPM drive in it.

I will confirm that it comes off instantly after ordering, however I also have a $50 gift card charge on my credit card. I'm not sure whether that is normal or not when you do one of these deals with amazon as it's my first try. It doesn't really make sense to me to charge the card for $50 and then subtract $50 from the price of the laptop too.

I'm with you..save me $40/$50 bucks so I can go SSD or at least 7200RPM...the stock drives are crap.

What they do is make another order for just the gift card. So, you will have two charges on your account one for laptop (-$50) and other for $50 (giftcard). Since they can not sell a giftcard for free! Check your account - you'll have two separate orders by now!

To answer the other poster, yes, you'll receive a giftcard which you can use anytime (lifetime) on Amazon.
