Note: This is the first deal I have ever posted.

What: Chimney Free Electric Fireplace
Size: 64" diagnol (43 inches tall - 50 inches wide) Large unit.
Stats: 1350 Watts - Heats 400 sq feet
Where: Costco IN STORE ONLY (can't find on site)
Price: $199.97 (Similar units selling for over $600)

I live in Pittsburgh. I visited 2 different Costcos. Both had them on display for this price, but only one had them in stock.

Costco item number 925222. (Does not show up online. Call your store to ask if they have it in stock)

Brand of fireplace is Chimney Free. (top brand)

Here is a link to a Canadian website discussing this Fireplace...

Electric insert along sells for $249 (retails at $579) http://www.electricfireplacesdire...EF022GRA-R

(Unit uses 28EF022SRA opposed to GRA)

I went to Lowe's last night and saw this unit... I would describe this unit in regards to size/quality as near identical. Additionally, this unit uses the same fireplace insert (28EF022SRA). This one sells for $649.

*The price of this Fireplace just dropped within the last few days. I was going to buy this last week for around $300 (thinking it was a great deal). I was thrilled when I went back to Costco and saw it was marked down $200. I asked the individuals working at the nearby in-store Verizon Cell Kiosk and they mentioned that the unit use to sell for close to $400 and has recently been coming down in price.

My review: (out of 5)
Looks - 5
Quality - 5
Easy to assemble - 4 (fairly easy for the amount of pieces and size --- best to have 2 people)
Heat - 2.5 (perhaps it would be effective in a (as suggested) 400 square foot, closed in room. but any open spaces and you lose the heat)

Overall grade for retail price - 4
Overall grade for the price - 5... a 10 (thus the reason I bought 3)

*I can post pictures and receipts if desired. (receipts would be more of a pain than pictures though. As mentioned, I bought 3 of these!!!

Add YMMV as Costco close out prices are at the store manager's discretion.

When would an electric fireplace not be "chimney free"? If I said I had a chimney free television... would that make any sense?

I've seen this at my Costco. The last time was last week. It was like $399 or so. I'm looking for something to cover up my real fireplace since it never gets used and just sucks out the hot air in the house.
