Thread Details

Just received this from Playstation Network:

This year, PlayStation®Plus subscribers got over $1200 in exclusive discounts. Here's your chance to get in on those savings. Try PlayStation®Plus free for 30 days. Expand your game library with select PlayStation®3 system games, minis and free PSone® Classics.

Sign up this month and download Tomb Raider™: Underworld—FREE
for subscribers.

A 12-month subscription to PlayStation®Plus is only $49.99. That's just over $4 a month for exclusive benefits:

How to redeem the code for your 30-day trial of PlayStation®Plus:

1. Log into your PlayStation®Network account on your console or create one.

2. From the PlayStation®Network icon on your XcrossMediaBar (XMB™), select "Account Management."

3. Select "Redeem codes."

4. Enter the Voucher Code as noted above and click "Continue." You will then be taken to the download screen.

It came with 1 code for myself and 2 codes for friends.

Go check your emails!

Got an email from Sony offering me 1 code for 30 days of Plus and 2 codes for friends. Of course, I'm going to use all 3 for myself. Fine print reads: Codes valid until March 31, 2012.

I didn't get it Frown
Since the emails apparently come with 3 codes, if anyone has an extra I'd really appreciate it.

So are you already a subscriber? I have a card that I was planning to activate on January 1 so I wonder if I'll receive this email before or after I activate...? It's not quite clear if the email was sent to subscribers or not.

It doesn't say you can't.... and I would think you could. It probably just activates a new trial each time.

If you're going to use all 3 codes, you have activate the first one by January 30th.

If you don't, the 3rd one will expire before the 2nd trial code is up.

I am not currently a subscriber, however I did activate the 30 day trial they gave to everyone back in June/July.

None in my e-mail. I still have a code to use from when I bought the PS3 though.

If you're already a plus member, will it just extend your current membership?

I got this email as well. I don't have a Plus subscription currently and have only ever used the trial that everyone got before from their security incident. It should be noted that it's a "Plus: 30-Day Trial (subscription to 3-month)" and the fine print says:

*A credit card is required to redeem your PlayStation®Plus 30-day trial, but you will receive this trial without charge. Unless you cancel your subscription at least one day prior to the end of the 30-day trial, your trial will automatically convert to a 3-month PlayStation Plus subscription and $17.99 will automatically be deducted from your PlayStation® wallet according to the PlayStation®Network Terms of Service and User Agreement. This 3-month subscription will continue and automatically renew until you cancel it. You may cancel your subscription via the account management on your PlayStation®Network account or by contacting customer support at 877-971-7669.

Edit: I activated one of the codes and you can just go into your account management and cancel the automatic renewal right away. The 30 days of Plus remains.
