Universal Laptop USB Docking Station
Does anyone have experience with universal USB docking stations for laptops? I just bought a Dell Inspiron 14z with 2nd gen Core i5 processor and am looking for the best way to easily connect the laptop to peripherals on my desk when I choose to work in the office. I'd like to connect to an external monitor (not near it now to know its connector), speakers, keyboard, mouse, ethernet to router, and ethernet to printer. The customer reviews on the USB 2.0 devices I can find are mixed at best for all brands. I don't know whether the problems mentioned are more related to people not following installation instructions or actual hardware/software issues. I did see that Targus now makes a USB 3.0 docking stations but it is probably too expensive for me (~$180-$200) considering I'm connecting a $600 laptop. |
