By the way, Amazon magazine subscription is a bit convoluted. You get a confirmation email that doesnt mention the number of years. I didn't know this until my 2-yr Playstation magazine I got for $30 (around Dec of 2009) got cancelled after 1yr. In fact 1yr was $18 and I had paid $30 so it was obviously for 2 years but I didnt have proof because the email they sent me didnt mention the number of years. I thought this is a simple matter of contacting the Playstation Magazine. I did, no help they referred me to Amazon. Amazon also didnt help and referred me back to Playstation Magazine. The other problem was that the subscription was a gift from my wife, so it was under her Amazon account but Magazine was under my name. So it was hard for me to contact CSR of both companies as I was not the person who paid, nor did I have access to her Amaozn account or emails. At the end (Dec of 2010 when I got the termination notice) I just gave up after spending hours of sorting it through. After about 6 months the magazine has started coming again so its not 2years yet but will know soon when it ends this time.

Note: If you leave the auto-renewal on, Amazon will renew next year at the THEN lowest price available on Amazon.
Can anyone confirm the following? I called Amazon.com Magazine Customer Service Experts at 866-384-0564 and was told I could sign up for one year auto-renewal for $5, cancel the auto-renewal, then buy another year of auto renewal to make it a 2-year (or more) subscription. He said as long as I use the same name and address that they should stack.
Also, I just noticed that once you add the magazines to your cart, you are able to change the quantity to more than 1 (which you cannot do from the product’s page). Would this work as it would be simpler than ordering, cancelling and ordering again. On a 2nd call, the Amazon Magazine Experts said that updating the quantity might make the order not go through, but he said if it goes through it should give you more than 1 year.
I wish I was able to really confirm this will work, as I would like to sign up for 4 years of Popular Mechanic and Popular Science. You cannot beat $5 per year!
