kinda funny that they would bundle a 5D with a lens that no one would likely buy for a 5D. but at least it's still a good deal, regardless.

id say the b&h deal for just under 2k is better since that is typically a fairly cheaply priced lens although im not sure its as bad as u imply.

Why so much hate for 1.8? I agree that the build quality is sub par but its a pretty good prime lens especially for the price. I'm SURE most of the above posters would have had a different opinion it is is priced at $300+
I own Sigma 50mm, 135L, 70-200 II and of course 50mm 1.8 so my post is based on my experience. Porsche with Ling Long brand would be 5D with 75-300 |

Adorama is keeping the deal attractive with CF card and that extra battery, in my opinion. Don't really care for the other stuff.

To the people who are laughing about a 50 f1.8 bundled w/ a 5dmk2... This is the combo I use most. Also my GF uses this combo to do photo shoots (engagements, weddings, etc) very frequently. Cheap lens but still produces wonderful images on this body. There is a plan to upgrade to a 1.4 or maybe 1.2 but this lens is still fantastic for what it is.

Come January, some of you might regret dumping over $2k on 5D m2.
There is bound to be announcement from Nikon & Canon. After all they won't go into olympics without new Pro FF body. i got a 7d for $1100 which i can justify as it is about $1k less than if i were to spend on 5d m2 now. Wow 5D M2 is over 4 year old camera. how can you justify spending so much on it? Before you buy anything, always search for the sellers rating online

I like the 50 f/1.8 pq, and the af is still better than my tokina 35mm f/2.8, but every time I swap it I cup my hands to catch any bits that I expect to fall off
Great for the price, but it's lens cap feels more solid than the lens itself (slight exageration )

It takes a bit of soldiering, but after doing that, it will have EXACTLY THE SAME PERFORMANCE as before the new one gets announced. Too bad for the suckers that don't know how to remove that, eh? I was Dirty Harry, John Wayne, and G.I. Joe
