Depends. Most of the time you'll get the perks; free breakfast coupon, or whatever. The room upgrade (to a higher floor, or Concierge level, if they have one), probably. Upgrade to a suite, usually not. I go PL almost always for my personal travel and I have had very few properties refuse to acknowledge my status based on a PL reservation. That's true for Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott or Starwood.

FYI - Using my Hilton Gold status, I was able to upgrade (for free) my Best Western status to Platinum and my IHG Priority Club Status to Platinum (which is the highest tier for Priority Club). It took IHG about two weeks to respond to my email request, but I'm good to go now!
Of course this is only good for the rest of the year, but a nice bonus! |

Just figured it out and am looking at Gold Status right now. ![]() here's how it's done: Step 1. Create the Account [hilton.com]. Step 2. Go to Fake Name Generator [fakenamegenerator.com] and create a fake (but valid) address. Step 3. Go to your profile [hilton.com] and change your address to the australian one. Choose "AP-Area pacific" as the state. Step 4. Go to this website [elfqrin.com] to generate a fake credit card that starts with the digits 411945- under “Generate a Credit Card Number” Choose Visa- Chase Manhattan Bank and a random credit card number should pop up in this format 1234 xxxx xxxx xxxx. Replace that with – "4119 45xx xxxx xxxx" and hit generate. It will create a VALID credit card number for you. Step 5. Go to the Hilton Gold Status Landing page [hiltonhhonors.com] Step 6. Input that credit card number that you generated. Enter the Captcha and hit Verify. It should be verified right away. The credit card number that I generated worked on the first try. Step 7. Log out. then Log back in. Verify the Gold Status. (in the left hand column under "Account Summary". Go to the address section and reedit it to your actual address. Step 8. Smile.

Well after completing 4 nights in a hotel, 40,000 HHonors points were credited to my account. They were sitting in my account for about two weeks, and then all of a sudden they were taken away. I wrote to them, and here's what they said,
Hello: Thank you for your inquiry regarding your Hilton HHonors points. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience as our records indicate you were enrolled in error back in December 2011 for a Visa promotion which was only for members residing in the Asia Pacific area. As a result 40,000 points were added to your account. This error was discovered in a recent audit of your account and the points which were added by mistake have been removed. To thank you for being an HHonors member we have added 1000 points to your HHonors account in a non-hotel activity entry. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us. For immediate assistance, please click on the link below for the contact number of the Hilton Worldwide Service Center location nearest you. I should have redeemed them before they took them away ![]() Maybe they would've given me negative points then ![]() Oh well, I guess when you snooze, you lose. |

Seeing as they have NO proof that you did anything wrong, you should speak to a CSR and try to get those points back! Call again and again until you get someone who's willing to help out. You can always claim that you saw the link somewhere and signed up..you didn't know that you weren't eligible. And this argument should work, especially since they themselves mentioned that you were enrolled in error. Hope you can sort this out! Good Luck. |
