Comcast - Performance Internet and Basic Cable - Existing Customers - YMMV - 34.99

I am paying 52.xx for just performance boost HSI and called today morning to "cancel" the service to get better rates. I was offered performance boost that I currently have with basic cable for 34.99 with 1 year of contract. I have no plans changing comcast and I just use it for high speed internet, so signed for 1 year extension/

I do own my own modem, so I also save $5/month that way as well. I am in Chicago Suburbs and this is a big deal, as I have never seen Chicago getting any offers whenever there is comcast thread posted on here.

I had Comcast Blast 39.99 Internet + Basic cable for some time..

Yesterday I contacted Comcast to get free Premium channel for 12 months through URL : http://slickdeals.net/?sdtid=3177...&&Inflow=1

I was told it is only for exisiting Premium channel customer who paying at original price only.. I asked if there are any other promotions.. they gave me upgrade to Digital Preferred + one premium channel for 14.99 one year.. as I was looking for Digital Preferred channels I took it. In case anyone interested..

The promotion is for 12 months however you are committing for 2 years where the second year you will be paying $45.

That is not correct. It is a 1 year contract at $35/mo, and then the rate goes up to $45 for the second year---but there is no commitment after the first year. I tried cancelling last week and already have the email confirmation that says only a 1 year contract.

After 12 mths, pay 45 for couple of months and then do the same of calling and get better rate. Been doing this for years, and it works.

Where I live it's $63 for JUST the highest tier Internet (10mbit download) AND I own my own modem ($1 credit only). This is with Time Warner. I have no TV service either. Been a customer since they were Adelphia in 2006. No deals here

Yes, prices do go up. Trick is to call multiple times and say you are going to cancel and want to talk to someone in their department that deals with customer retention (or something like that, they will give you appropriate name). Tell them that you are going to cancel and you will eventually get a better rate. Unfortunately, it does take some time to get the job done. Perseverance is key. Patience too.

The comcast rep told they have some promotion on The Blast package (their highest speed I believe) and reduced my month;y bill to $43.XX + Tax.
