Deal Details

Just finished up a RT cross country flight and was able to get free WIFI all 5 hours I was onboard. The catch is it is 30 minutes at a time, but here is what I did using my ipad.

1. Turned on WIFI when allowed

2. Automatically your sent to a log in screen from gogo wireless and it states ebay is offering 30 free minutes in exchange for you giving them your email.

3. After the thirty minutes are up you are rerouted to pay for more minutes.

4. I closed down safari and cleared my history and cookies.

5. Started safari again gave them a bogus gmail address (just like step 2) I made up like idontwanttopay@gmail.com and presto another 30 minutes.

It worked on all 4 flights I took (2 each way) woot

I also utilized this awesome deal and since my flight was only 1.5 hours I was just able to utilize the free internet through only three different browsers. Internet Explorer, Mozilla and Safari.

I was able to use the same e-mail address each time too...so you really don't need to make one up.

This offering was sponsored by eBay on my flight.

I'm sure I'll get negged, but how is it a hot deal to just, y'know, steal stuff?

You can also avoid ever buying catsup if you just take enough extra packets when you're at the condiment bar.

But, again, that's not really a deal. Just a willingness to take something. Or should we view this as a "teachable moment" for whatever company supplies the wifi trial without forcing you to confirm via the e-mail you give within a few minutes of registration?

got to love that...

Can not believe they are not farming the MAC address with the connection.. great loophole..

Sucky bit is that most of my monthly flights are still on old Northwest planes..

What do they care? Ebay is footing the bill. The more logins the better for gogo.

DO NOT DO THIS!!! I did this on my last flight and they caught me 2 hours into the flight. They said it was fraud and had the US marshal place me in hand cuffs. I had to sit in the cargo hold for 3 hours being interrogated. They wanted to know where I had learned how to do this. They beat me. They stripped me. They probed me. When we landed they put a sack over my head a drove me to some detention center. I spend 3 months there without contact to the outside world. My family had no idea where I was. I was probed on a daily basis. I had to eat Capt Crunch and peanut butter every day. Eventually they drove me to the country and dumped me in the middle of a some desolate road. I had to hitchhike my way back to the city. One of the middle age truck drivers probed me before dropping me off. I haven't spoken of it until now. But in the end, it really wasn't worth it for a couple hours of free wifi. YMMV

Had me in tears, thank you. So much probing. Clap

Absolutely different from stealing Ketchup. First off Ketchup is a tangible good and each restaurant has a finite amount of packages; therefore stealing extra packages takes away from the other patrons etc... and requires the store to spend money purchasing more packages.
