Just went to BB on Saturday morning as their semi-annual sale started early and picked up 2 suits etc.; this will make for a nice price adjustment as I plan to go back Monday and ask for the additional 20% off.... I don't really care about the 'not valid towards previous purchases part'

I am surprised that my regular salesperson didn't mention anything about this when I was there today... as long as I get the adjustment I don't care much.

Thank you for the post - was this an email you received?

Better than Charles Tyrwitt?Express? Any others?

I am a 25 yr old attorney so maybe Express is more appropriate.

Love my Lands End shirts but I found those CostCo shirts to be complete trash.

I bought 6 or 7 based on reviews. The sizing was completely different even though ever shirt was 15 1/2 & 35.

Fit was giant/billowy/baggy - Sorry, just had to throw in my bad experience w/ CostCo shirts. They do look nice if you can find ones w/ consistent sizing and a comfortable & good looking fit.

lol - I am lucky enough to have a job - Many of my classmates do not. Law firms are pretty weird w/ salary structures and it varies HUGELY across field/region.

I am in St. Louis and do Chemical Patent Work - I make the St. Louis market salary which is low six figures for a first year associate (and I know nothing).

But then again you may have been mocking me...but I hope not because I was just asking if these are cool for a sort of young, urban professional (workaholic).

fit wise, express > CT and BB for me, but quality wise, BB > CT, Express.

Express shirts wrinkles like no other shirts I've owned before, that's my only gripe but for $21 a shirt and their never ending color selection, I can't complain...

Skip the express, but you can't go wrong with Charles Tyrwitt shirts. If you want the real money look go with Turnbull and Asher. As for BB, I have farmed Jos A Banks "Traveler" and Macy's "Eagle" and "Forgot the name" brands for years for approximately $17 a pop on super clearance. While these are nice shirts, they in no way compare to the weight of the fabric nor stitching quality found in a Brooks Brother's shirt.

Whether it is worth an additional $30 (on sale, no less) for the quality is a different matter.

Finally, I assume you have this book, Junior Esquire, 'cos if not, it is a required reading for all those who aspire to at least attiring like a gentleman:

Alan Flusser's Clothes and the Man

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...00_details

It is long out of print but well worth the price for anyone interested in style, not fashions...

For billowy shirts that give you the mast at full sail look go to a tailor and have "darts" sewn in to it. It will tighten it down for about $6-12 a shirt and make you much more presentable.

Rarely do I find an off the rack that fits perfectly.
