I need a better than integrated video for some AMD systems. They dont have to be gaming class, but I'd like for a change to get a graphics windows 7 performance rating above 5 or 6 ...

If all you want or need is an inexpensive video card to replace your PC's integrated graphics, then the AMD Radeon HD 6450 does the job. But that's about all it does.


As I have a pile of .5GB - 1GB junk video cards, Im going to pass on this. Is there any hope to find something good for < $50? how about < $100?

yeah....wait for a 5670 deal. roughly $60. i got a 5670 in my HTPC right now, and it handles 1080p blu-rays with ease. certainly not a gaming card, but for everyday use and media playback it's rock solid.

The nice thing about this is its $10 less then the xfx fanless. This is THE card to get for a media center. Its the lowest power card you can buy that still has full hdtv decoding, and can bit stream all the hd audio codecs from bluray over hdmi.

what does 512mb- 1 gb have to do with the card being junk? Obviously a 2gb 6450 would still only do htpc work with no improvement over a 512mb card or 1gb card.

Also what is your definition of good because under 100 dollars there are a good deal of cards
