i got this one and it works great. Just make sure you press the number for the output or the hdmi switcher will go off and on since its powered by all the cords.
The Amazon one also has an IR remote that at least one reviewer was able to program into a programmable universal remote, and shipped by Amazon so way faster. Repped for tip!
I've been looking around for an HDMI splitter box lately. Can anyone recommend a good one? I know this one has reviews on the site, but I'd prefer to hear from fellow SD'ers. Thanks!
This meritline one also comes with 3x 6-foot HDMI cables (30 gauge, which is probably the same thickness that comes with most devices with cables boxed in).
I went with the meritline one for the cables, and I don't mind *if* I have to get up to switch *if* the auto-switching doesn't work right. But I put the Amazon one on my wish list for reference. TU for this deal.
The amazon one is 3 input ports on one side, 1 output on other side; meritline one is 1 port on each of the 4 sides. Didn't notice this, but I can put up with it, probably. Hopefully I won't need to do a lot of manual switching.
The amazon one's pictures suggests option to add 5V DC power, but no power adapter included; from pictures seems like meritline's does not have any power ports. I assume extra power should let the HDMI cable runs be longer before degrading signal enough to be noticeable.

I got this one[amazon.com] just a few days ago and it's awesome. It will auto-detect whatever unit is turned on and switch to that one. My TV only has one HDMI port and I hook up the Xbox 360 and PS3 to it, so it's nice having it automatically change to the correct source whenever I turn one on!
This product was on sale earlier this month. Amazon also lists a 3 x 1 switch by the same manufacturer for a lower price. Looks nice, good reviews, and your greenbacks stay stateside (if that is important to you).
PS: This vendor has indicated that they will be listing a two output option soon on Amazon....they were indicating that this was imminent but that was almost a week + ago
Yeah, i want my PS3 (Input) into two different outputs, TV and a Monitor. So i'll need a Matrix for that to work?
Yes, you'll require an HDMI matrix to make such a configuration work. I believe these switches are designed to allow multiple inputs be applied to a single HDMI port, what you require is a device to allow a single input to be split between multiple outputs. HDMI matrices are a fair bit more expensive than switches though.
Man. A lot of good info on here in regard to what is available. The only thing I am skeptical about is that each one of these units mentioned have good reviews as well as a lot of bad reviews. I mean, that is usually the case for most products but I like going with the ones that are no brainers due to the amount of overwhelming positive experiences from reviewers. Tough call for me.
