What's the consensus on this vs the HP Touchpad?

I have both and i LOVE the picture on the Blackberry...I think the PB is made better and the camera shoots 1080p video..Not to piss anyone off and i'm no kind of spec expert but i think the PB is better for the money just a compact size...Good luck and there maybe a BIG update coming in Feb..

HP Touchpad is essentially dead and future support for WebOS has been cancelled as far as I know. So that's reason enough to get the playbook if you're considering one or the other. The playbook is somewhat treading water right now, but if it gets all the updates that have been promised, and continues to be priced competitively, it should survive the tablet battle.. Doubt it ever reaches the kind of sales figures of the iPad, but it costs half as much (now). The playbook is well built; too bad it doesn't have expandable memory like the HTC EVO View/Flyer.. I'd get the HTC over the BB PB if you can find a good deal. The HTC is a really nice device and quite capable.

Is it a hardware Or software update?

I think both....From all the talk on all the sites i think there going to try to run android...The only thing that the PB is lacking is Apps.It has a good amount put nothing like Apple or android..It's a good tablet i think best of the 7" models they just priced it to high i think its worth $200.....If you have a blackberry phone you will be in heaven surf the web from your phones internet connection with no extra cost on PB...

For what I use it for all that WebOs being cancelled this and that, don't have nothing to do with nothing !!!!!!!!!!! the touchpad is great and I have it and love it, actually have one 16gig two 32gig and a Rare Chupacabra 64gig White one (mine) you can over clock it, has descent apps, skype , and 10.1 gorrilla glass on it, movies looks awesome but skype sucks big time because of its camera I rather not use it and even though you can over clock it is still laggy in some areas, by the way I sold 14 of them.

Playbook, I sold 10 kept one Refurbished, camera is awesome I like the feel of it because it has better grip and the movies also look awesome I can't even tell the difference from both the touchpad and the playbook very HD on both. No skype on playoook which sucks because it has a decent camera but I have to honestly say I like the Playbook much better. I decided to sell my White Chupacabra and keep the 16gig refurbished Playbook I feel I can take this one anywhere because of its size.
