I personally don't think it's a very good tablet, because the specs are all old. It is meant to be a budget tablet, so I guess it's good for that. If it was $150, it would be good, haha.

Overall it's not a "bad" price for this unit.
Lenovo has hinted that they will make an OS upgrade available but at this time there is no option to upgrade the A1 to Honeycomb, let a lone ICS. Keep in mind that the IdeaPad A1 series are 7" tablets and single-core processor. It may be suitable for someone who just wants to surf, email, etc. It is a good deal in that they were going for $249+, but my guess is that you will see a few nice 10" tablets in this price range in the coming weeks. The IdeaPad K1 series are sweet 10" tabs and always place in the top 5 on review sites. (currently the ThinkPads are their top-of-the-line tablets, and $$ reflects it) Nice find OP, but I am going to hold out a week or two to see what prices on the 10" units do. (rep) |

The price is good. But be prepared for disappointment with the screen. I owned one and returned it. Even returned the one I bought for someone else as a gift. The screen is by far the weakest point. Other than that, the specs are solid for the price. But don't ever expect ICS for the A1, not officially at least. Lenovo has stated that this will not get ICS. Maybe the XDA Developers will show some hope, but that's about it.
