FYI you can buy them much, much cheaper on ebay. Search for melamine foam.

I wasted about 20 minutes sifting through eBay listings of melamine sponges from many Korean sellers. For some reason (probably relating to the exact dimensions of the uncut sheet of melamine they start out with), almost all of the CHEAP sponges on eBay are significantly smaller than the Mr. Clean product--- basically about the size of a credit card. They are also a bit thinner than the Mr. Clean sponges.
A few sellers do have larger sponges, comparable in size to the Mr. Clean item, but those are significantly more expensive--- generally 60+ cents per sponge. That's marginally better than the Amazon sale price, and maybe appealing if you need some right now. Suspect there must be some way to buy uncut sheets of melamine in the US and just "make" these sponges yourself. |
