I think the 15" laptops do not look as good at 1366x768, so I think this being 14" is a plus.

i have a lot of the $25.00 coupon off that will work for this order. pm if you're interested. when i say alot...i mean a lot. I'm also working on trying to get an extra 25.00 that i can stack on top of the 25 to make it 50. But for now it'll be only 25.00 off.


EDIT: I was able to get an extra 25.00 off. So now it'll be 649.99- 25 and another -25.00 at finaly check out which bring it to 599.99.

Is it possible to lower this even further with EPP pricing, or does using EPP negate the camera deal?

just fyi, you can upgrade to the Canon 300HS for +$30 (which will give about a ~$40+ resale value over the 100HS on ebay, if that's what you plan to do)

Got in on the pre-Christmas deal for $425 with the $125 Amex card (just rec'd in the email).

I purchased this for my daughter - purposefully getting a small, light laptop. While wiping, installing, and configuring the OS and apps for her before Christmas, I'll say this:

The good:
1. It is light (compared to my E6520)
2. I really like the keyboard - nice tactile feedback
3. Nice screen
4. Smooth movie playback from the 'net (HDMI out)
5. Good battery life
6. Responsive with 4GB, may get 8GB at some point, but 4GB seems fine
7. USB 3.0 (also has a "powered" USB for charging, when plugged in I believe)

The neutral:
1. No VGA out - need a DisplayPort -> VGA converter (MonoPrice has one for <$10)
2. No latch, just uses spring mechanism to close the lid - have to be careful not to let it "slam" down

The bad:
1. Doors on the ports - silly. Really don't need these and they just get in the way.
2. I really HATE the touchpad buttons. They are by far the worst buttons I have ever "touched" in my life on a laptop. My daughter has gotten used to them...but if I could spend up to $60 or so, I'd seriously consider trying to replace the touchpad buttons or something.

Overall, a good laptop for a child in high school with another year or so and then off to college. I envision this lasting at least 4 years for her. If I had a son, it would probably be less.....

So was the net price $300? or did you pay $550 less $125 and the net wprice is $425?

He paid around $550 and saved an additional $125 when he received the gift card.
