man, i been looking for something like this as a hobby worktable and at that price would love to have two of 'em. but your link goes to a table that says "online exclusive." you sure it's the exact same workbench as the one you bought? i'm gonna go check my local HD, but i'm doubtful...

It is definitely the same one I purchased today. The work bench was setup in the front of the store by all the christmas clearance stuff. Hope you find one.

I am not sure if Home Depot store clearance is national or local. The price on the web site is online exclusive, same regular price regardless of the zip code you put in. I tried both stores in OP's city and got the same price as anywhere else. So you may want to use inventory checker to see if your local stores still have them. Most stores in my city are out of stock.

Someone bought this item online and returned it in the store. The store doesn't normally carry it so they marked it down in price to get rid of it. That's the reason you got it for the price you did. Most retailers do the same with items that are oversized or sold online exclusively.
No deal here....other than for yourself. |

I bought the same workbench in my local store a few days ago (Harrisonburg, VA) at the price OP mentioned. There were at least 8 more in the store. So it is definitely not a returned item. But definitely YMMV.

Called my local home depots... they definitely are on sale for $40... none near me had any. Just one down south (Nogales) but is too far to make me even think about driving down there.
I'd call and ask for a visual confirmation. |
