Trackpad delay after typing issue...Samsung Series 3 11.6 - i3
Hey all,Having issues with my recently purchased Samsung Princeton. Like a lot of us, I purchased this recent deal from staples. I installed the Elan drivers and tried messing around with the settings, but can't figure out how to stop the lag after typing in boxes on this internet. I would be filling in name and address, then try to move my cursor and there is a second or two delay... Can anyone help? Thanks! |

Can't help with specfics but this should be in the settings probably something to do with disabling the trackpad if you are typing on the keyboard to prevent your wrist from making the mouse move. There should be in the settings. Consider updating the drivers as well (Guessing this is what the Elan drivers are?)
Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

I've played around with the settings for a couple of weeks now. Everytime I think I have it fixed, it comes back again... Was hoping people with the same laptop or someone that uses Elan would have corrected this issue in the past??? Thanks |

I often receive computers that do similar things to yours, with a time delay between typing and when it appears on the screen, and tweaking it always solves the problem. Does that sound right to you. Does it feel a fair bit slower than when you first got it? Do you know how to tweak your computer? |

The computer speed seems fine. Not noticing any changes from when I first got it. And what do you mean by tweak my computer? Like what areas, etc... |

Without getting too technical, a computer is just about always doing "stuff" while it is on. The more "stuff" it is doing, the slower it will react to another command. Compound that with other factors that slow computers down, and you can get delays of various kinds, such as what you now have, or when you right click on an item and the menu doesn't appear instantly, and so on. Tweaking is the art of maximizing performance without changing hardware. (it can include hardware changes in some cases) I am frequently asked to explain what to do to tweak a computer, but it's not that simple. If it were, everybody would know how to do it, not to mention, a program could be developed to to the whole job automatically, and as you well know, no such thing exists. Each computer is different and the main reason for slowness, varies from one to another, so giving you instructions of what to do will only cover part of the problem and may not even resolve the typing time delay issue that you now have and to make matters worse, everyone has a different opinion as to how to do it, so the next thing you know, you're getting conflicting instructions and you don't know which are the right ones. What I can tell you is that speed is my specialty, more than repairs, and I'll send you a PM to see if we can find an easy fast solution for getting your computer tweaked up. |
