Replacing 30 year old Linoleum, need a deal on the tools...
I am planning on pulling up the original, now 30 year old linoleum in my laundry room and I need the tools to get it done. I'm looking for a slickdeal on a razor floor scraper and a heat gun so I can get the linoleum and adhesive up.If you know of any deals or have any suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to reply. PLEASE be certain it's asbestos free before you hack it up. If you aren't sure? Just cover it up. |

Yeah, an asbestos testing kit is about $3 at Home Depot. (Don;t get one at Harbor Freight) You aslo might ask about a glue remover as well. Lots of times old linoleum was put down with very thick, tar-like substance. Some times Go-Be-Gone will loosen the glue and it can be squeegeed off and then mopped. There is a scraper that is used to remove shingles - sort of a flattened looking hoe. If you have a way to sharpen the edge a bit (not a lot!!) you might be able to get much of it up while standing. Is it sheet or tile?
