Motherboard for Intel Xeon X3220.

Hello all.

My motherboard died and I need a new motherboard. I don't play games and over clock any more so I just need reliable and cheap motherboard that will last long time. I do browse a lot and do a lot of office work and just little photo/home movie editing.

Any thought on cheap reliable LGA775 socket motherboard?

TIA.

Thanks for reply.
I have 8gb of ddr2 right now but I am willing to upgrade to ddr3 only if it makes that much difference.

Methinks an LGA775 board with DDR3 is going to be much more expensive than one with DDR2, that's the only reason I was asking.

How much are you looking to spend?

Since it's outdated processor. I just want to spend as little as possible. Maybe under under $100-$120 with mem upgrade? If not cheapest new with ddr2.

Does anybody know if Asus mobo above works with Xeon processors? I did a search and some say if it's same socket it will work and some says it doesn't. The saying at the internet is x3220 is cherry picked q6600 and it will work and some says they need a bios update.

Looking at their supported processors it doesn't have any xeon processor listed.

I found pretty good deals at local place but I don't want to pay their 25% restocking fees.

Help!

How about asrock? It's even $5 cheaper.

To let people know above mobo is compatible with lga775 xeons. I got open box P5G41TM-LX3 for $40 cash from local guy with full warranty. I guess saying is correct. Now I
am waiting for SSD to arrive so I can install win 7.
Thanks everyone
